MyLocalPlace is a place-to-connect platform for people with businesses in their area that can be found and reviewed by other people. Individuals can find businesses in their locality, view comments written by other customers, rate businesses, and read more about what businesses have to offer. Business owners can open an account or login to current accounts, update business information and respond to customer reviews and updates.

Our goal is to build a reliable platform where consumers can make smart choices based on correct information and real customer experiences. This will help local businesses grow.

Eligibility

MyLocalPlace is only available to individuals at 18 years of age, or the age of majority where you live. According to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act our website is not for children under the age of 13.

When you sign up you guarantee that the details provided are accurate, complete and current.

User Accounts

Some parts of the site will require you to make an account to use. Your password and username are part of your account info, so you're responsible for keeping it safe! You are in charge of everything that happens under your account.

If you believe that someone has accessed your account without your permission please advise us as soon as possible. We recommend you use a password that is strong and not share information regarding your login with anyone.

Business Listings

People who own businesses can make or claim profiles on MyLocalPlace. Names, addresses, phone numbers, hours of operation, services, prices, and photos of businesses should all be correct and up to date on a regular basis.

MyLocalPlace can look at business information and change it or take it down if it seems wrong, misleading, duplicate, or against these Terms. The fact that a business is listed on MyLocalPlace does not mean that we approve, support or certify that business.

Reviews and User Content

There are a lot of reviews on MyLocalPlace and they help people find better places to live. Only people who have really dealt with a business should write reviews of it.

It's not okay posting untrue, hurtful, abusive, insulting, or disparaging things about other people. There's no way businesses are allowed to give gifts or other perks to customers for their positive feedback and no way to “intimidate” customers into giving bad reviews.

In exchange, you agree to share reviews, pictures, and comments you make on the site, should you choose to. It's the same content, different owner, but same use as MyLocalPlace show, store and use as they wish and need to have a functional and better product.

Prohibited Activities

Users agree not to engage in any activity which may damage MyLocalPlace or the community to ensure that MyLocalPlace remains safe and reliable. It is prohibited to post fake reviews, provide false information about a company, masquerade as someone or something other than it, use racist or offensive language, send spam, upload harmful software or attempt to access accounts or systems without consent.

Users of this platform are also not allowed to use automatic information retrieval tools to obtain information from the platform without authorization, change reviews, create fake accounts with malicious intent or reproduce content from the website without authorization.

People who repeatedly or otherwise violate these Terms may have their accounts permanently banned from MyLocalPlace, or their access to the site restricted and their content removed.

Intellectual Property

The MyLocalPlace name, brand, internet design, pictures and unique content is protected by intellectual property rules. All these are provided by MyLocalPlace. The material cannot be changed, copied, shared, or copied without having first obtained our signed permission.

Business names, logos, trade marks and other business branding that appear on this platform remain the property of the owners. If you believe any content displayed on MyLocalPlace infringe on your copyright, please contact us with the information needed. According to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act a consideration of copyright claims would be necessary.

Account Suspension and Termination

Violation of these Terms and use of conduct that harms the platform or users may result in the termination of user accounts for good.

This may include posting of fake reviews, supplying false information, repeated violations of the rules, harassing others, fraud or spamming, or committing any act that may put the safety and trust of other users of MyLocalPlace in jeopardy.
